100 Day Creativity Challenge (Days 43-49)

Next up, we have Day 43, the first day of the week. I made an ADVENT BEER CALENDAR. Where we will drink a beer everyday in December. And I bought all new kinds of beers. I have only had three of them before, SO EXCITED!! This is #DAY43

On Day 44 I made a casual lunch because my husband was working from home. Chicken Caprese! So easy and it looks super fancy. #DAY44

For Day 45 we set up our tree. We live in a small apartment right now, so our tree is super small, but it always reminds me of home and how much I love Christmas. Plus we hung our stockings from this table, and it turned out super cute. Here is #DAY45

Day 46 I wanted to make a fancy dessert. I have been watching too many baking shows. Anyway, my suggestion is to never be fancy with desserts again. Just make brownies or cookies.... that's all anyone wants in life. Anyway, I made whoopie pies!!! They are great and delicious, but very rich. They have chocolate whoopie pies (not my fav, but very good) and peanut butter buttercream icing (Now that was delicious). This is #DAY46

For Day 47 I played around on my Ipad some more. This was way better than the other two procreate designs. Plus, I was super homesick.... Can't wait to go back to Missouri for Christmas. #DAY47

Okay, before you judge me.... no one will judge me, I just judged myself. Anyway, I wrote the same quote that I wrote yesterday. BUT I wrote it with chalk, so that's different, right. I just thought I wrote it really well.... I love chalk and I want to get better at it! #goals #DAY48

Then Day 49 I was feeling inspiring. So, I wrote out this quote. I love this quote! It inspires me to keep trying. If I never try, nothing will ever improve. Plus, I can see so many flaws in everything I make, but other people don't look as closely. I guess we can be thankful that everyone is self obsessed. HAHA just kidding, but not really. Here's #DAY49

How to Spatchcock a Turkey

Are you ready to find out the secret to an amazing Thanksgiving turkey? Is it brining? Basting? Butter under the skin? WHAT IS IT?!?! It's called spatchcocking and it is a Godsend. Note: you can also do this to chicken or any poultry (it will probably be different cooking times and whatnot) What is spatchcocking? Spatchcocking means you remove the backbone and lay your bird flat (don't worry I will do a step by step tutorial below). You do this so your legs and breasts cook at relatively the same time. With this method you want the breasts to end at about 150 degrees and the legs to end at about 165 degrees. Which is why we removed our legs in case they needed to cook longer. How to Prepare a spatchcocked turkey?  First, we bought a turkey. You buy one pound per guest. We had to get a frozen one because we bought it a week and a half early... But if you are cooking for Thanksgiving I highly recommend getting a fresh bird. There is no need to get one that is pre ...

100 Day Creativity Challenge (Days 92-100)

Okay, So I have a couple extra days in this post, but it's the last post!!!!! 100 DAYS!!!!! I am the coolest! Leading off with #DAY92 with my all time favorite motivational quote! It's seriously amazing, and online it has an extra part, but I didn't think that was appropriate for social media.... For #DAY93 I was sitting around knowing I wanted to do some block letters, but couldn't think of anything to write. Then my hubbers walked in the door and here it is. It was a quick doodle, but he really liked it. So, it's a keeper. Now #DAY94 I made this amazing WHOLE30 approved gumbo with cauliflower rice!!!! It was so amazing, very spicy, but will eat again after the diet..... probably with real rice, but that's okay. PS, don't you just love my parsley garnish??? So artsy. Hahahaha! Recipe here And this is #DAY95. I only have 5 days left.... this is insane. I'm sure all my family and friends are happy it's almost over... Anyway, I p...

100 Day Creativity Challenge (Days 15-21)

I realize I am a little delayed on these days, but I don't think I have that DAILY of a following. So I think I'm okay. Anyway, on to Day 15. For Day 15 I decided to break out the calligraphy set my husband gave me two birthdays ago. BEST GIFT EVER! It takes a lot of practice, and you have to go super slow.... not my forte. But once you get going it is amazingly easy. It makes you feel like using a quill back in the day with John Hancock. Or is it Herbie Hancock? The world will never know. #tommyboy Anyway, I was just messing around and writing letters, hope you enjoy my #DAY 15 Next, Day 16 I thought I'd give crocheting another go. I ended up using my entire thing of yarn, and it was only big enough to be a scarf (kind of going for a blanket, but the scarf is cute). I still haven't mastered it, and I need to do more research.... And of course PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE #swanprincess. #DAY16 Day 17, this was a busy day. I went to Denver for ...
