100 Day Creativity Challenge (Days 15-21)

I realize I am a little delayed on these days, but I don't think I have that DAILY of a following. So I think I'm okay. Anyway, on to Day 15.

For Day 15 I decided to break out the calligraphy set my husband gave me two birthdays ago. BEST GIFT EVER! It takes a lot of practice, and you have to go super slow.... not my forte. But once you get going it is amazingly easy. It makes you feel like using a quill back in the day with John Hancock. Or is it Herbie Hancock? The world will never know. #tommyboy Anyway, I was just messing around and writing letters, hope you enjoy my #DAY 15

Next, Day 16 I thought I'd give crocheting another go. I ended up using my entire thing of yarn, and it was only big enough to be a scarf (kind of going for a blanket, but the scarf is cute). I still haven't mastered it, and I need to do more research.... And of course PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE #swanprincess. #DAY16

Day 17, this was a busy day. I went to Denver for a self guided Brewery Tour.... So, it was hard to be creative, but I tried a few different attempts to see if something was minorly successful. I took a picture of this really cool flight we got at Cerebral Brewing (most adorable science themed brewery). My attempt at angles... I also was excited for pizza at the end of the night so I made a quick sign to show my enthusiasm #creativitylacking I tried, not every day will be a winner #DAY17

Here's Day 18, I wanted to use my chalk markers some more. These should be used every day of my life. ERASABLE CHALK MARKERS!!! AMAZING!! I wrote one of my favorite quotes, hope you enjoy my #DAY 18

For Day 19 I went on another hike. I know, I'm a hiking machine, and I love it! I also wrote a poem, thought I'd mix it up a bit.

Today I hiked above the clouds.
Nothing could stop me from reaching the sky.
I closed my eyes and tried to fly,
But knew I would surely die.
So, I stayed and wandered in the clouds.
Vowing one day, I'll touch the sky.

So, my poem is about how I was hiking through fog today. It felt mystical and heavenly, because I knew where the clouds were was a drop off of the mountain #terrifying. So, it made me feel like I could just walk through the clouds and escape, but then I thought BUT I DON'T WANT TO ESCAPE MY LIFE! I have weird thoughts while hiking... Anyway, #DAY19

DAY TWENTY!!!!! I have no idea why I wrote that like that.... random. Anyway, I decided to show off my bullet journal. I LOVE THIS THING! It keeps me organized and creative at the same time. I use it everyday, but I just finished a couple pages that really make me smile. Hope you enjoy. Also, my sister said she would buy a calendar where I wrote out the month and days for her... If there is any interest in that, leave a comment. #DAY20

Day 21 I was inspired by this post I saw on Pinterest. It was an M, but it wasn't outlined or colored in or anything. It was just white. Then there was this beautiful picture behind and around it. Flowers, a cat, random, but beautiful. And the M was just perfect. It was super fun, so I thought I'd try with a G. Plus I really enjoy drawing Aspen trees.... so this is what I came up with, enjoy! #DAY21

How to Spatchcock a Turkey

Are you ready to find out the secret to an amazing Thanksgiving turkey? Is it brining? Basting? Butter under the skin? WHAT IS IT?!?! It's called spatchcocking and it is a Godsend. Note: you can also do this to chicken or any poultry (it will probably be different cooking times and whatnot) What is spatchcocking? Spatchcocking means you remove the backbone and lay your bird flat (don't worry I will do a step by step tutorial below). You do this so your legs and breasts cook at relatively the same time. With this method you want the breasts to end at about 150 degrees and the legs to end at about 165 degrees. Which is why we removed our legs in case they needed to cook longer. How to Prepare a spatchcocked turkey?  First, we bought a turkey. You buy one pound per guest. We had to get a frozen one because we bought it a week and a half early... But if you are cooking for Thanksgiving I highly recommend getting a fresh bird. There is no need to get one that is pre ...

100 Day Creativity Challenge (Days 29-35)

I know, I know... I am super behind... But I am determined to catch up! Day 29, I have been wanting to get better with my ipad and Apple pencil.... since I have one and don't want to waste my money. Anyway, this isn't my best work, and I haven't found the best pens to use... I'll get there. Plus this replay time lapse is the coolest thing ever. Here's #DAY29 On to day 30, I have finally made this a habit! Today I used my chalk markers on slate. I chose a Zombieland quote, because it makes me happy. Here it is #DAY30 Day 31. So, I want to apologize for today... My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary (early) and I took some pretty pictures and mixed my own cocktail.. I'd call that creative. I know these snippets are really short.... Anyway, Day 32 I decided to commemorate our anniversary trip at Devil's Thumb Ranch (MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE EVER!!!) So, this is my creative project for #DAY32 Moving on to Day 33, I...
